The City of Olympia is considering rezoning 2.34 acres across from Bayview Market to allow for high-end residential condominiums and retail and office space.  Completion of this project is contingent on approval of a Comprehensive Plan Amendment and Re-zone to expand the Urban Waterfront Housing Zone.

How Can You Help?

  • Attend the public hearing and speak in favor of the project. (plan to to arrive at 5:30pm to sign in if speaking)

  • Attend the public hearing and show support of the project.

  • Email the Olympia City Council telling them that you are supportive of their efforts to increase market rate housing in the downtown.

  • Olympia has never reached proposed comprehensive plan housing densities. The Larida Passage project will increase housing densities.

  • The project is consistent with the Growth Management Act, requiring greater densities within city limits to prevent urban sprawl.

  • The project will assist in the vision of more people living downtown.

  • The project will be a catalyst for future private sector investment in downtown.

  • Downtown's housing is out of balance with many option for lower income housing but virtually no other housing options.
