David Schaffert,
President/CEO
Prior
to his Chamber career, David worked as a
contract lobbyist, working on higher
education, long term care and insurance
issues. In 1991 after receiving his BA from
Central Washington University, David was
hired as the Chamber's Governmental
Relations Director. From 1994 to 1998, he
worked for the Olympia Master Builders as
their Government Relations Director and was
charged with starting Master Builders
Chapters in Lewis, Grays Harbor and Pacific
Counties.
David was hired as the President CEO of the
Thurston County Chamber in 1998. |

John Darby, Vice President –
Member Services
A
graduate of the University of Washington,
John started his career working as
Legislative Research Analyst for the
Washington State House. He was elected to
the McCleary City Council in 1997 and served
as Mayor Pro Tem in 1999 he currently serves
as the elected Deputy Mayor of the City of
Lacey where his also is Chairman of the
Utilities Committee & Lodging Tax Advisory
Committee (LTAC). In addition, he serves on
the Board of the Olympia, Lacey & Tumwater
Visitor and Convention Bureau. He is a 2001
graduate of Lead Thurston County and a
graduate of the Institute for Organization
Management (IOM) and been awarded the
prestigious Certified Association Executive
(CAE) designation by the American Society of
Association Executives. |

Dave Sisk, Member Services
Dave came to us after
spending 20 years with Simpson Timber
Company where he was very active in
developing employee safety program and head
of the Emergency Response Team. An
entrepreneur at heart, Dave is always
looking to start another business and or
help someone build theirs. |

Buddy Stevens, Member
Services
Buddy Stevens has lived in Thurston County
for ten years and served as the Maintenance
Supervisor at Evergreen Christian Community
and School for eight of those years. He has
dedicated his career to service to others
and is now serving the members of the
Thurston County Chamber! |

Dawn Warren, Member Services
As
part of the Member Services team, Dawn
brings over twenty years experience in
marketing and sales. She has also been
a workshop leader and writer. |

Tammy Harman, Operations
Officer
Tammy has a background in project management
and social services. She has many
leadership qualities, including a strong
emphasis in communications and organization
management. As a native to Thurston
County, Tammy holds family and community
close to her heart and volunteers regularly. |

Kelli Myer, Finance Officer
Over 15 years of experience in Accounting &
Business Management. Kelli has been a
resident of Olympia for 9 years and is
active in the community with a personal
passion for the American Cancer Society.

Connie Monte, Pacific
Mountain
Business to Business
Connie's career began in the
banking industry where she gained vast
experience and knowledge in various
positions throughout the years. She has a
strong background in office management,
bookkeeping and human resources. |

Alisha Blain, Events
Coordinator
Alisha is a
recent graduate of Central Washington
University, and life time resident of
Thurston County. With creative thinking and
lots of energy, she assists the Chamber
sustain an organized calendar of events and
activities. She spends her free time
coaching youth cheer and dance. |

Amanda Lehr, Administrative
Assistant
A
native Californian, Amanda moved to Olympia
in 2006 and immediately felt at home.
Her background is in customer service and
community relations and is a member of a
number of volunteer organizations.
Amanda's search for knowledge keeps her in
constant student status. |

Sheila Prull, Special
Projects
With over three decades of association
management, Sheila has held just about every
position in the Chamber industry. Now
retired, she provides the Chamber with
a wide array of services, including special
projects. |

Betsy Pozzanghera, Program
Director
– LEAD Thurston County
Growing up in a family that moved every four
years (give or take), Betsy discovered she
had a knack for networking with people and
loved learning new things. These interests
developed into a career in education. She
moved to Olympia with her family 15 years
ago from NC and immediately felt at home.
Living in the same place for so long has
given her a wonderful new perspective and
appreciation for COMMUNITY |
